Looking inside our own natures we find that the search for the eternal life is not much more difficult than the search in ourselves for personal life.
We are, we exist, we are beings.
We are creatures possessing the mysterious power of self-awareness.
We know that we are, we believe that we are, but what we are we do not know, and why we are we can only guess.
This thing within us, and which we call “I”, is so elusive that we seemingly never have the direct experience of it.
We learn what it does, sometimes to our sorrow, but what it is we do not know.
We can no more isolate the “I” in ourselves than we can the vast “I” in space, and the reason we cannot isolate it as a concept, or examine it by detection, is because it is on a higher level of function than man.
